GLRU Youth Rugby Exco is in charge of the Youth Clubs that fall under the Lions Union. We are in charge of children from U6 to U18. We focus on development rugby for players and upskilling of players. Coaches and managers are volunteers and no one gets paid. We are involved with the Interprovincial tournament that is run every year between the Lions, Sharks, Bulls and Valke, this is for u13’s, u14’s, u15’s, u16 girls, u16 boys, u18 girls and u18 boys. Age group festivals are held to invite 60 of the best players within the club structures, the touring squad is selected from here. Teams play in a Lions Jersey and are extremely proud to put that jersey on.
